Paradise Found

A few days ago we hopped on a ferry from Athens (a little too early in the AM for me) and made our way to Naxos for some Greek island life.

After getting over the initial wave of being utterly sleepy, the sun rose and we were able to have some pretty sweet views of the Greek islands.

We found a good spot to store our luggage before sitting back and relaxing in the summer sun.

As great as the views were, by the time our 5.5 hour ferry ride was over, we were ready to jump off the boat and see the town.

The city poured into the cliffs from the port and we were greeted by a sea of white houses and cafés.

Our first stop? St. George’s beach for some major tanning.

I brought only the essentials, as we snagged a couple lounge chairs and sun umbrellas.

The water glistened and called our names as we baked away. Finally too hot and sweaty to ignore it, we jumped in for a swim.

The sand bar stretched into the middle of the bay, and the water was warm yet refreshing.

After a few more rotations of sun bathing and swimming, I headed down the shore for a little exploring.

Lined with umbrellas, there were young couples, old couples, families, and your average single. All enjoying the sun, playing in the sand, and drinking a few beers or cocktails.

Returning back to our spot, I knew we had found paradise.

Not wanting to get heat stroke, we headed into town for a few refreshments.

And then took a little wander around the harbour. It was incredible how clear the water was!

After strolling through the marina, we headed back to the apartment to get cleaned up and ready for dinner.

Returning to the marina, it was as if it had a makeover full of dazzling lights and busy patios.
