Eating is one of my favourite things. I might even call it a hobby.
And, as you know, I’m always on the lookout for new restaurants and good eats.
So, imagine my joy when I realized that I could continue this hobby, while sitting in the comfort of my own home (and my pyjamas).
What’s my secret? Foodora.
Up until now, I thought delivery was mostly limited to greasy pizzas. But, this is a bit of a game changer.
Foodora links up with popular restaurants in town, to bring you a delivery service thats cheap, quick, and tasty.
So, how does it work? First, you head to their website, and pop in your address. Next, view the list of restaurant partners, make a choice, and select from the menu. In most cases, the full in-restaurant menu is on offer, with only a minor delivery fee worked into it. Once you’ve made your selection, enter your payment information and you’re good to go! With speedy couriers and a great use of technology, you can then track your food from preparation to delivery, with a live timer counting down the minutes.
Most meals are delivered in 35 minutes or less (unless there is some sort of hang-up caused by the restaurant). If so, you’ll get a text to let you know there is a delay, just so you aren’t left hanging.
But, while we’re at it, let’s think outside the box. With their bike courier service, you’re not just limited to ordering directly to your home. In fact, they’ll deliver anywhere. Why not order smoothies and gelato for an afternoon at the beach, soups and sandwiches for a picnic in the park, custom burgers for an evening out ice-skating, or something hearty for a late night at the office.
I eagerly tracked my courier, heard him climb up the stairs to my flat, and was waiting to open the door by the time he rang the bell. Around the world in a swift 35 minutes.
The hardest part? Determining what to order, given the variety of cuisines and restaurants to choose from.
One night I was setting the table for a fancy Friday-night Indonesian feast for one,
And the next, I was welcoming a friend for pizza & sodas.
And, with everything properly packaged upon arrival, you can choose to skip the dishes altogether if you really want!
Head to the Foodora website to check them out – or get their ios/Android app.
This post was a collaboration with Foodora, but all thoughts & opinions are my own. I’ve been waiting for something that allows me to have restaurant-quality food, while sitting at home, and this does just that. But, I love that it is so much more too! I’ve tested it out a few times now, and each time I’ve been happy with the service – and the product I received. Definitely something to check out!
