2015 was a pretty big year, and while I’ve got a post on my 2016 Goals coming up, I thought I would first do a little reflecting on this past year with you.
It was a big year for Calgary foodies, as we jumped on the Mexican bandwagon, became obsessed with Tapas, gorged on pastries, and then moved on to French cuisine. During this time, I was lucky enough to land on two of my current faves: Anju and Suzette. Still staples in my restaurant repertoire, they cover all the bases from comfort to trendy food.
And, while I didn’t do as much cooking as I would have liked (probably because of all the restaurant testing – which I am NOT complaining about), I did manage to whip up the best lemon loaf ever.
I travelled near & far, but my three favourite moments were exploring Quebec City here in Canada, enjoying the relaxation of petit dejeuner in Paris with my mom, and meandering through the medieval streets of Rothenburg. I’ve been working on developing helpful itineraries with tips on where to stay, what to eat, and what to see and I’m looking forward to many more adventures in the years to come.
Back home in Calgary, I managed to score tickets to the Calgary International Film Festival – catching the pre-screening of Hyena Road, and I wandered through fields of glimmering chinese lanterns at Illuminasia.
And last but not least, I celebrated the first birthday of my best pal, Sophie.
