Ok party people, as I said, I’m keeping it simple this year with only two gift guides.
Rather than confuse you with a bunch of different guides that you need to sift through and categorize your gift receivers into, I’m making them broad enough that you can find something for everyone.
You will have seen my post on Gifts for Her yesterday, so by now you’ve realized, today is Gifts for Him.
I always have a harder time with this one because well, dudes are hard to buy for! I myself am struggling pretty hard with what to buy the Mr. this Christmas. Thankfully, he likely just wants a GC for some new jeans. Who knows though, maybe Santa will come with a surprise.
Gifts worth the Dolla Dolla Bills ($$$)
The New PS4: If he’s a gamer, and you’re okay with it, why not give his system an upgrade? Throw in a few games and he’ll be letting everyone know you’re the best. Which, let’s be real, he should be doing already.
Best Buy even has some bundles on sale right now
A Trendy but Classic Blazer: Ted Baker is really killing it in this department. A well fitted blazer can go a long way in pulling together any outfit. Add a little flare by selecting something with a cool fabric on the inside, or, go for a patterned or metallic outer shell.
Or check out Nordstrom if department stores are more your thing
Apple TV: Another electronic, apple TVs are great if he likes his shows. Which, I mean seriously, who doesn’t? In a one stop shop, Apple TV lets you download iTunes, binge through shows on Netflix, and use all those other subscriptions like Crave and Shomi. Plus, it comes in a sleek white box.
Daevialet Phantom Speaker: Okay so this is more of a wish than anything. This item is beyond a splurge, but it looks pretty neat if you’re looking for something $3,000+. It’s like a space age new bluetooth speaker, with what is apparently excellent sound.
Gifts worth the average Dolla Bills ($$)
Travel Bags: This is the perfect gift for the guy who does his fair share of travelling. I would suggest a duffel type bag that he can use as a weekender, or take on the plane as a carry on. The durability of materials like leather or canvass will help keep all his things protected during the expected travel (or baggage claim) bumps.
Herschel is one of my favourite brands for duffles
You should also head on over to Touch of Modern
There’s even some gems at Nordstrom
Go Pro: If he’s really into adventure, this is the great gift to capture each moment. Plus, it’s not normally something he will think of buying for himself. Tag it on your pet, his helmet, a backpack…the options are endless and you’re guaranteed to get a video that reminds you of the real thing.
Once again, Best Buy is my usual go-to for electronics
Wine/Craft Beer/Scotch of the Month Club: If he’s into alcohol, you can likely find some sort of club that sends him a new drink every month. These are great ideas if you’re looking for the gift that keeps on giving – and it lets him build up his list of favourites with no risk!
Gifts for when you don’t have Dolla Bills ($)
Activities: Why not get him a pass for an adventure type activity – and one for yourself at it. There are some great activities or classes out there that are perfect for any guy who loves a good competition.
Man Crates: I just found out about these a couple weeks ago, and I must say, I’m impressed. Most come shipped in a crate (duh). There’s a ton of different options, which really allows you to customize it based on the person and their interests. After all, their goal is to create the perfect gifts for men!
Accessories: Honestly somewhat of a staple gift, you can’t go wrong with a couple colourful socks, a pocket square, and a lapel pin or two. Yes, this gift isn’t all that original, but who said it has to be? We all need socks and underwear don’t we? Guys seem to go through this stuff so often, that spending a little extra money on a few good quality items can be worth it. We all know they won’t. Besides, anytime a guy wants to add a little flare and effort into his outfit, I’m down. As long as he doesn’t go too crazy with it…
Get him some comfy but tight-fitted briefs. Perfect if they’re the guy that wears suits on a daily basis
OR: If it’s in your budget, splurge for Sprezza box and have a few goodies sent to his doorstep monthly
If you need a few more links or ideas, check out my Gift Guide for Him post from last year. There’s a few repeats, but in my mind that means they are timeless!
As always, feel free to share your ideas below! We could all use a little help.
