Jelena and I were overdue for a bit of girl talk. Although we see each other once a month at Book Club, it nearly isn’t enough to stay up to date in each other’s lives…
Luckily, we each had a Saturday night free and were eager to grab a bite.
And when I say a bite..I mean a three course meal.
We headed on down to Saltlik for the big taste, with a hankering for steak and sticky toffee pudding.
Seated in a quaint booth near the kitchen, we gossiped and gabbed, stopping only to take a few quick breaths.
Branching a variety of topics form work, to boys (duh), to events, we caught up and plotted our next adventures.
In no time, we were chowing down on delicious peppercorn steaks, skinny fries, and fresh salmon. Having worked up quite the appetite.
^ Seriously though, you MUST order the skinny fries ^
The food here is quite good and if you’re looking for a last minute reservation downtown, it’s usually the place to go.
Of course, a girls night isn’t complete without a treat. Caramel-drenched sticky toffee pudding for her, and a warm, freshly baked, personal apple pie for me. Both topped with ice cream that melted into each crevice.
^ #defeated. ^
This post is short and sweet though, since I can’t divulge the secrets of the female race!
