Playing with Patterns

It’s Fashion Friday!

Untitled

I am a big fan of bold patterns when it comes to fall and winter weather. I found this recent skirt (on a great sale) at Banana Republic, which is great for both professional and casual office settings. I love the shapes of the pattern and the pencil skirt style.

I chose to pair it with a rich red cardigan to not only bring out the colour but to add a bit of pop to those otherwise dreary looking days. Normally I would put a dress shirt or blouse underneath, but this time I was a little inspired by the looks of Rachel Zane. Now the sweater is something I have “rediscovered” from my closet, but I’ve posted a few others below.

The skirt would also look great with a cardigan or blouse in blue, yellow, or green. The neutral colours make it pretty compatible with almost anything.

Because the pattern is so bold, I wore minimal jewelry and plain shoes to avoid taking attention away from it (and too avoid looking like one of those crazy ladies).

I’m sporting my new watch from Pocket Watch UK, which I’ll be writing a post on next week.
