Pumpkin Spiced Pecan Loaf

This is for all you pumpkin-spice lovers out there.

Before trying this loaf, I honestly didn’t even like pumpkin – but, this recipe is a game changer. Inspired by the Pumpkin Spiced Pecan bread at Williams-Sonoma, this loaf has the same great taste at a much lower price.

As if all the above wasn’t good enough, everything pumpkin is on sale right now as Thanksgiving season comes to an end!! So get out there – you will love it, I promise!

– 3/4 cup pure pumpkin

– 2 eggs

– 1/2 cup vegetable oil

– 1/2 cup buttermilk (I used light buttermilk)

– 1/2 cup white sugar

– 1/2 cup brown sugar

– 1 3/4 cup flour (all purpose)

– 1 teaspoon baking soda

– 1/2 teaspoon salt

– 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

– 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice

– 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger

Step 1: Whisk the pumpkin, eggs, oil, buttermilk, and sugars until combined.

Step 2: In a separate bowl, whisk the flour, baking soda, salt, spices (cinnamon, pumpkin pie, ginger, nutmeg), and pecans.

Step 3: Slowly pour the dry ingredients into the batter and blend.

Step 4: Pour the batter into a greased loaf or cake pan.

Step 5: Bake at 350F for 60-70 minutes.

  1. This looks and sounds delicious! Any idea what I can replace the pumpkin pie spice with? They don’t sell that in Europe. Maybe just a bit more cinnamon and nutmeg?

    1. Hi Laura! It is so delicious and butter-free! I would add a little more cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger. Those are the three main spices in pumpkin spice, so it should be easy to replace! Another idea is if you have allspice or an apple pie spice of some sort!
